Everyone wanted to see the BMW stand at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. It was the place to witness all the new BMW developments and see what’s coming next. Not only was the BMW 7 Series luxury sedan debuted, but we also got the chance to glimpse the next generation of plug-in hybrid powertrains. Let’s take a closer look at some of the best releases during the show.
Introducing the New BMW 7 Series
The restyled BMW 7 Series was the hit of the show with its updated driver assistance technology, connectivity innovations and extensive design update. The front end is taller and comes with slimmer headlights. There’s also a restyled rear apron and new slender light strip located under the chrome bar. It also features Nappa leather trim and a new engine lineup that includes a V12.
Second-Generation Plug-in Hybrids
Another hot debut at the BMW stand was the plug-in hybrid variants of the BMW 3 Series Sedan, BMW X5 and BMW 7 Series. The BMW 330e Sedan generates 185 kW of power, equating to 252 horsepower. With the XtraBoost function, this increases to 293 horsepower. This allows the sedan to hit 60 mph in just six seconds. It is set to arrive in dealerships this July.
The new BMW X5 featuring an electrified powertrain also comes with a straight-six engine. Combined power equals 394 horsepower. It will arrive in August this year and feature the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system to offer a sporty performance.
Finally, the BMW 7 Series plug-in hybrids will take luxury to the next level. The electric motor and six-cylinder engine combine to produce 394 horsepower when the Driving Experience Control is set to SPORT.
